Five thirty am. Fresh coffee, Blu the bunny and I start our day quietly on the sofa. Blu loves attention so I appease him while I write.
My intention was to write goals, count my blessings and maybe write a mission statement. Blu has other ideas. His mission is for my attention and he is making it difficult to concentrate. He is hard to deny now that he has maneuvered himself onto the back of the sofa intermittently bumping me with his nose and pawing my shoulder. His name is Blu but Relentless would have suited him well. He finally resorts to tugging on the lapel of my robe. When he gets his way (which is often) I am rewarded with itty bitty bunny kisses and rapturous teeth clicking.
I finally abandon my task and surrender to his wishes. He leans into my hand eyes shut tight. He loves it. I bury my face into his fur that is so soft it is otherworldly. Kissing his tiny neck and ears he distends into uncontrollable clicks. It is satisfying for us both. He has won. His mission accomplished.
Settling into my fate I began to ponder. Maybe Blu is right. Maybe this is a much better way to share these wee hours. It’s miracle of trust from this fragile animal with the heart of a lion. He is a study in how self confidence and persistence pay big dividends.
After a few minutes I feel more rested and at peace then after a full nights sleep. If I had gotten right to work, I would has missed this moment of magic. And really what is most important than that?
Thanks Blu.
